Esby is operated by Reladium LLC, doing business as Esby (“Esby,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
We respect your privacy and are committed to being thoughtful about how we collect, use, share, and protect information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit esby.io, create an Esby account, connect accounts or services, import information, use Esby’s relationship intelligence features, interact with AI-assisted features, or otherwise use our products and services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information you authorize us to access from connected services, information generated through your use of Esby, and certain technical information collected automatically.
Information You Provide
Depending on how you use Esby, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Account login information
- Profile information and preferences
- Information about your professional or relationship goals
- Notes, prompts, questions, and other information you submit through Esby
- Files, spreadsheets, contact lists, transcripts, meeting notes, or other content you choose to upload or import
- Feedback, survey responses, support requests, and communications you send to us
- Payment-related information if you purchase a subscription or other paid service
Payment information is generally processed by our third-party payment provider and is not stored directly by Esby.
2. Information From Connected Accounts and Services
Esby may allow you to connect or authorize access to third-party services such as:
- Email accounts
- Calendars
- Contact systems
- Meeting or transcription tools
- Customer relationship management systems
- Cloud storage or files
- Other communication or productivity tools
The specific information Esby accesses depends on the integration, the permissions you grant, and the features you choose to use.
This may include information such as:
- Names and contact information
- Email metadata and, where authorized, message content
- Calendar events and meeting information
- Participants or attendees
- Notes and transcripts
- Contact records
- Relationship history
- Dates, timing, frequency, and patterns of interaction
- Other information available through the connected service that is necessary to provide the features you authorize
We access connected information only within the scope of permissions you provide and as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, or improve the Services.
You may be able to disconnect supported integrations through Esby or the applicable third-party service.
3. Information About People in Your Network
Because Esby is designed to help you understand and maintain relationships, your account may contain information about people who are not themselves Esby users.
This may include:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Organizations and professional roles
- Contact details
- Relationship notes
- Communication history
- Meeting information
- Interests, projects, goals, or other context contained in information you provide or authorize Esby to access
- Inferences generated by Esby about the relevance or status of a relationship
We process this information to provide relationship intelligence to the Esby user whose account contains or has authorized access to that information.
Esby-generated inferences are not necessarily verified facts about another person and should not be treated as such without confirmation.
4. Information Generated Through Esby
When you use the Services, Esby may generate information such as:
- Relationship summaries
- Suggested follow-ups
- Recommended people to contact
- Potential introductions
- Possible opportunities or reasons to reconnect
- Meeting preparation
- Draft messages
- Relationship history summaries
- Search results based on information available within your account
- Prioritization or relevance signals
- AI-generated explanations and recommendations
- Personalization based on your preferences, behavior, feedback, or SHEER Personality information
These outputs may change as Esby receives additional information or context.
5. Technical and Usage Information
We may automatically collect information about how you access and use the Services, including:
- IP address
- Browser type
- Device type
- Operating system
- Approximate location based on IP address
- Pages viewed
- Features used
- Dates, times, and duration of use
- Referral source
- Cookie and similar technology data
- Application performance information
- Error reports
- Security and authentication logs
- Interaction data that helps us understand how features are used
6. How We Use Information
We use information to operate, improve, personalize, and protect Esby.
This includes using information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate users and maintain account security
- Connect authorized third-party services
- Import and organize information you choose to provide
- Build relationship context within your account
- Generate relationship insights, recommendations, summaries, and drafts
- Identify potentially relevant people, opportunities, or reasons to reconnect
- Respond to questions you ask through Esby
- Personalize the Services based on your preferences and usage
- Provide features powered by SHEER Personality where applicable
- Process payments
- Provide customer support
- Send transactional communications such as account confirmations, receipts, service notices, and security messages
- Send marketing communications when permitted by law or when you have opted in
- Understand how people use Esby
- Test, evaluate, and improve features
- Develop new features, products, and services
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, misuse, abuse, and security incidents
- Enforce our Terms and other agreements
- Comply with legal obligations
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand broad trends, conduct research, evaluate product performance, and improve Esby, provided that such information does not reasonably identify you.
7. AI-Assisted Features
Esby uses artificial intelligence and other automated technologies to analyze information and generate summaries, recommendations, insights, drafts, search results, and other outputs.
When you use AI-assisted features, information relevant to your request may be processed by Esby and service providers that support those features.
AI-generated information may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. You should use judgment before relying on or acting on an Esby-generated recommendation or inference.
We do not sell your private account content or relationship data.
We do not use your personally identifiable private account content to train public, general-purpose AI models unless we clearly disclose that practice and obtain any consent required by law.
We may use de-identified or aggregated product usage information to evaluate and improve Esby.
8. SHEER Personality Data
If you choose to connect or use SHEER Personality information within Esby, we may process information such as:
- SHEER profile information
- Personality dimension information
- Relational tendencies
- Preferences or personalization signals generated through SHEER
We use this information to personalize how Esby communicates with you, what it surfaces, how much context it provides, and how recommendations may be framed.
SHEER information is not a medical, mental health, diagnostic, or clinical assessment.
Your use of SHEER Personality may also be governed by SHEER’s separate privacy policy and terms.
9. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in limited circumstances as described below.
Service Providers
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate Esby, including providers for:
- Cloud hosting
- Databases and infrastructure
- Authentication
- Artificial intelligence
- Analytics
- Payment processing
- Email delivery
- Customer support
- Security
- Error monitoring
- Integration infrastructure
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to us and subject to contractual or legal obligations regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
Connected Services
When you connect a third-party service, information may be exchanged between Esby and that service as necessary to provide the integration you authorize.
Your use of third-party services remains subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Business Transfers
If Esby or Reladium LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Legal Requirements and Safety
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental requests
- Protect the rights, safety, and property of Esby, our users, or others
- Investigate suspected fraud, misuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity
- Enforce our Terms or other agreements
- Protect the integrity or security of the Services
With Your Direction or Consent
We may share information when you direct us to do so or otherwise give us permission.
For example, future Esby features may allow you to share information, introductions, drafts, or other content with another person at your direction.
10. We Do Not Sell Personal Information
Esby does not sell personal information in exchange for money.
We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If our practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any rights or choices required by applicable law.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to:
- Operate the website and application
- Keep you signed in
- Remember preferences
- Understand usage
- Measure performance
- Improve the Services
- Detect fraud or security threats
- Support analytics

Disabling certain cookies may affect the availability or functionality of some features.
12. Analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with Esby, including which pages or features are used, where users encounter problems, and how the product performs.

- Provide the Services
- Maintain your account
- Preserve relationship context you choose to keep within Esby

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account, subject to information we must retain for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or operational reasons.
Information contained in backups may remain for a limited period until those backups are overwritten or deleted in accordance with our normal processes.
14. Disconnecting Accounts and Deleting Imported Information
You may disconnect supported third-party accounts through Esby or the applicable third-party service.
Disconnecting an integration stops future access through that connection but may not automatically delete information that was previously imported or generated from that information.
You may request deletion of your account or applicable personal information by contacting hello@esby.io.
We may provide additional account-level controls for deleting or managing imported information as those features become available.
15. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Request information about how we collect, use, or disclose personal information
- Receive a copy of certain personal information
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Appeal certain privacy-related decisions where required by law

We may need to verify your identity before responding to certain requests.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those emails.
You may still receive non-promotional communications related to your account, payments, security, or use of the Services.
16. Requests Concerning Information About Non-Users
Because Esby users may import or connect information about people in their professional networks, Esby may process information relating to individuals who do not have Esby accounts.
If you believe Esby holds personal information about you through another user’s account and you have a question or privacy request concerning that information, you may contact us at hello@esby.io.
We may need additional information to locate the relevant data and determine what rights apply.
In some circumstances, the Esby user who provided or authorized the information may be responsible for responding to the request under applicable law.
17. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Depending on how the law applies, these may include rights to:
- Know what categories or specific pieces of personal information we collect
- Know the sources and purposes of collection
- Know the categories of third parties to whom information is disclosed
- Request correction
- Request deletion
- Request access to personal information
- Opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable
Esby does not sell personal information and does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
California residents may submit a request by emailing hello@esby.io with the subject line “California Privacy Request.”
18. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction.
These measures may include access controls, authentication mechanisms, encryption, monitoring, and other security practices appropriate to the Services.
However, no internet transmission, software platform, or electronic storage system is completely secure.
We cannot guarantee absolute security.

19. International Processing
Esby and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Privacy and data protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.
Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of those third parties.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services before connecting them to Esby or providing them with information.

Esby is not intended for children under 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18.
If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, contact hello@esby.io, and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and delete the information where required.
22. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page.
If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the website, within Esby, or by email where appropriate.
